U8 and U10 - Rugby Workout

  • Rugby workouts will be fun, exercise sessions, to prepare the players for returning to rugby which we plan to do as soon as we move to orange tier. In order to join these sessions: - Everyone, coaches, players, parents and supporters, MUST wear masks for the full length of each session - Players must sign up on SportsEngine for each rugby workout session they plan to attend so we know the numbers we are expecting - Players must be registered with all appropriate waivers completed - please go to: https://admin.sportsmanager.ie/sportlomo/registration/member-registration/club/7259 - Players must be checked-in at the start of each session - During the session, all players will remain physically distanced and no shared equipment will be used - Parents/supporters will be asked to be distanced from the practice area and to remain physically distanced from each other For the sessions themselves, we will be keeping the cohorts consistent for both players and coaches: - U8s and U10s will do rugby workouts together on Thursdays from 6pm to 7pm at Jenny Strand Park - U12s and Middle Schoolers will do rugby workouts together on Tuesday from 6pm to 7pm at Jenny Strand Park In April we will also be doing sessions for both of these age group pairings from 9am to 10am on Saturdays. Rugby Conversations @ SV RFC - Special Guest Geordan Murphy - ex-Leicester Tigers play and coach, Irish international and British and Irish Lions player

  • We have our next in the series of SV Rugby Conversations with Geordan Murphy at 9am this coming Saturday. This is a great opportunity to invite friends to join the club so please spread the word. Please also send questions in to myself and Gary McSherry. Geordan is an Irish rugby union coach and former player. He played as fullback or wing both for the Irish international team and the English club Leicester Tigers, and also was part of the British and Irish Lions touring party to New Zealand in 2005. He has captained both Ireland and Leicester Tigers and was most recently Head Coach and Director of Rugby for Leicester Tigers. Note - due to the timing of this event we will be not be having U8, U10, U12 or Middle School practices on Saturday April 10th.
