Summer Sevens Rugby
Sevens rugby or seven-a-side rugby is a variation of the traditional 15-a-side game of rugby union played with 7 players per side on a full size field. Players spring around the field, tackle, pass, and kick the ball for 7 minutes per half. The short length of each game allows for multiple games to be played per day in a tournament format.
Rugby 7s will appear in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. It is the first time the rugby will appear in the Olympic Games since the United States won Gold for their second consecutive Olympics in the 1924 Paris Olympics.
